George T. Stagg Bourbon 2020 130.4 Proof

George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2020) is an uncut, unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and is one of the five bottlings in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection released each fall. For the 2020 release, barrels were filled in spring 2005 and were picked from barrels which matured in Warehouses L, K, and Q. The evaporation for this batch was 59%. Bottled after 15 years and 4 months of aging at 130.4 proof.

Nose: Lush toffee sweetness and dark chocolate with hints of vanilla, fudge, nougat and molasses. Underlying notes of dates, tobacco, dark berries, spearmint and a hint of coffee round out the palate.

George T. Stagg is a limited-production bourbon whiskey distributed by Buffalo Trace Distillery, as part of the distillery’s “Antique Collection ” series. It is a high proof uncut and unfiltered bourbon, aged for approximately 15 years. It has been distributed only once a year in the fall, but in 2005 a second spring release was added. It is rare to find outside the U.S., but some is distributed in other major cities.
