Aged for a minimum of 8 years, two years longer than the standard Gold variety (which typically matures for a minimum of 6), the Japanese Takara Gold is bottled at 51.5% ABV and is derived from Buffalo Trace’s #2 mash bill – estimated to contain 12-15% rye. Distinguished by the dark red wax that surrounds the stopper and the luxuriously styled shiny gold box, Blanton’s Takara Gold is smooth and exceptionally complex.
